a city couple walk into a pub and sit at the bar

at the other end of the bar is an earthy country type talking about Big Brother:
"this Big Brother is manure. It's this reality TV, it's all manure. In fact all modern TV is manure"

The city guy says to the barman:
"excuse me, do you mind asking that chap to tone his language down... it's offending my wife"

"Tone it down?" say the barman "do you realise how long it's taken us to get him to use the word 'manure'!"
