I just had a root canal this morning, and I had the gas, in addition to a shot. I could see and interpret everything that was happening around me, but I felt slurred, kind of like I was in slow motion, but it was an interesting feeling. It almost feels like you are floating, completely numb to caring about what's happening around you. Don't worry, you'll like it.

It gives you the sensation of euphoria, not caring about anything, floating sensation. You are completely aware of your surroundings and can react, respond and answer questions if ask, but try not to talk. Remember to continue to breath through your nose when your mouth is open during the procedure, otherwise you will loose the effects of the N2O. Any time you feel like the room is spinning or you don't feel right, just take a couple of deep breaths through your mouth to loose the N2O effects. If you have any questions just ask, they will be happy to discuss anything with you. Good luck!

I felt really sick the fist time they used laughing gas so when I had my wisdom teeth out I had 'em numb me up with novacaine and I turned my headset up loud.
It was painless.....until I got home...I would suggest having several of those soft packs you keep in the freezer around and milkshakes..............Good luck!!

I'm jealous, I love laughing gas, you will just feel really relaxed, don't worry and you will know whats going on, but you won't care.

You will not feel anything during the procedure. I just did it, still kipping ice on my face. They gave some strong medications for pain. Do not worry, i am alive, you 'll be too. Just follow all instructions. Good Luke to you

You'll adore it! You are "kind" of aware of what's goin on.I remember rubbing on my dentists arm and saying "I ove you" "I love you" and he and the dental assistant were laughing at me.

it feels like you're floating. you'll be awake, but feel disconnected from what's happening. i remember when i was on it, the dentist said to me, "ok, we're going to start drilling now." and i was like, "haha, ok!"
