The wedding is going to be a semi-formal evening event, the bridesmaids are wearing chocolate color dresses, tea length, and may have the blue color for a sash. I want the groomsmen to wear sharp looking suits but havent a clue what color. What color should the suit itself, the vest & tie be? Any suggestions would be great!!

Go to www.afterhours.com and you can 'build a tux'. I would go with a black tux and a chocolate color vest and matching tie - THEN - go out and buy a baby blue pocket square for each groomsman to wear and match the bridesmaid's sashes. I did that for my wedding since our colors are navy (and pink) and they don't actually make navy tuxedos.

Since it is semi-formal, you can go with either brown or black suits, although my preference would lean towards the black suits. A Tux might be a little too much for a semi-formal affair (depending on the rest of your decor and the mood of the event) and suits now a days are very sharp looking. Black with a baby blue vest, shirt or tie would look stunning, especially if you have any groomsmen with blue eyes ;-).

I love those colors! Good Choice.
I would put the guys in brown suits with blue ties. I would skip the vests and just make sure the guys can all button their coats. They'll be more comfy, especially since it's only semi formal, save some money and still look great next to the girls.

In my humble opinion I would avoid black tuxes/suits at all costs. I can't stand black and brown together, but that's just my opinion
:-)

Good Luck and congrats!

While tuxedos work with any colour, less formal attire for the men would likely be in better keeping with the semi formal tea length gowns. I wouldn't go with brown suits, however. A nicely tailored beige suit would be ideal. Pair that up with white shirts, and striped chocolate brown/ blue ties or beige suit, light blue shirts, striped brown/ blue ties.

I think a traditional tux on the groomsmen always wins. You want the women to stand out separate from them. Have the tie be blue to give it a connection to the dresses.

I'd look for black suits with a slight beige or brown stripe or hue. Match it with blue ties of the same tone as your sashes, and maybe cream shirts rather than white, to stick with the neutral shades. You might want to consider brown shoes, though, if you do find black/brown suits.

Sounds nice:)

Is the grooms tux completely white (white tie and vest) if so, dress the groomsmen in a lighter style of tux with a canary tie and vest and give them canary flowers that match the bridesmaid's bouquets while your grooms tux is a little different, and his flowers match your dress and your flowers.

you can always be "traditonal" and put the guys in black tuxes. just let them get a brown colored vest with the blue in it...perhaps hazy slanted lines of blue. you can let ur "groom" wear the blue bow tie..and his groomsmen wear the chocolate color ties. that way ur "honey" stands out and looks ALMOST as good as u do!! CONGRATS on the upcomin nuptials!!

I think Black tuxedos with a brown vest and white shirt....maybe you could tie the blue in with the boutonnière

After Hours has a create-a-tux feature on their website...check out the second vest in "truffle"....it looks great with the seventh jacket in black..

I totally agree. Traditional always wins!!! Black tux, and you can match the tie and vest to the girls dresses. If you want to tie the blue in, you can have their Boutonniere have blue in it, or blue ribbon to match the sashes. Either way, your dress is most important! :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!
