I can't stand my brother's girlfriend. She is rude and disrespectful to my mom and she doesn't think about anyone but herself. My question is do you think my brother will marry this girl? They have been dating on and off for 3 years, and now they say they aren't dating but pretty much are...you know couples like that. Anyway my brother never brings her around our family or close friends. Do you think a guy can marry a girl that really doesnt get along with his family?

Oh, yeah! Lots of dumb people marry a person that no one in their family likes. And it almost always ends in divorce. If he allows this girl to disrespect his mother, he is sooooo p****-whupped it ain't funny. And they have been dating "off and on" for 3 years? Bad sign! Tell your brother to get his gahoonas back from this girl and stop thinking with his zipper. Lovers come and go, but family is forever. And if not one person in the family likes this girl, he needs to step back and try to understand why.

He probably won't marry her (unless she winds up pregnant or something like that). It's been my observation that when a guy is just casually dating someone, he's less likely to care about his family's opinion of the girl than he would if he were considering marrying her. Usually, before a guy proposes he does take into consideration what his family thinks of her and how well she would mesh with his family. If she's disrespectful to his mom, I think he will have second thoughts about bringing her into the family.

When it comes to matters of the heart, you have no control over who he marries, but if you make a big deal of it, you may push him in the other direction. My brother married a girl that he was with for 5 years, then he ended up divorced within a matter of a year. I don't think anyone would have been able to keep him from doing it, just like with yours. All you can do is be supportive for him and hope for the best.

Yes a guy can and will marry a woman the family and all his friends do not like, I have seen it happen. It does not usually workout, unless the family has a change of heart.

It is possible. Hopefully she will do something to make him angry and he will cut it off. If he is in his 20's, he will probably fight the system for some time but it should go away.
