Just had my wisdom teeth cut out and I was wondering what the toxicity level of both these medications are. They are both in the pills the doctor gave me 30 percocet/endocet 5/325mg. So 5mg of oxycodone and 325mg of acetaminophen (tylenol).
I was wondering how many I should be taking a day for the pain, I usually take 1 every 4 hours but doesnt seem to be enough sometimes so i take 1 and 1/4 every four hours sometimes.
I was wondering what is safe and what is not I am 17 years old. Thanks in advance.

I am around 5' 9'' weight 138 pounds as of one week ago. The doctor also gave me Motrin 400mg which I dont really take and phenogran 25mg for the nausea assosciated with the percocet. I take 1/4 tablet of phenogran every 4 hours or 1/2 tablet every 8 hours (i do the 1/4 most of the time).

A lot more has to be taken into consideration besides age. Your weight and general circumstances should also be considered.
However, the usual dose is 1 to 2 tablets of the lowest strength (2.5 milligrams oxycodone/325 milligrams acetaminophen) every 6 hours. Doctors sometimes prescribe a higher dose if necessary. The total daily dose of acetaminophen should not exceed 4 grams. The maximum daily dose recommended for each strength of Percocet (oxycodone/acetaminophen) is as follows:
2.5 milligrams/325 milligrams: 12 tablets
5 milligrams/325 milligrams: 12 tablets
7.5 milligrams/500 milligrams: 8 tablets
10 milligrams/650 milligrams: 6 tablets

I take 4 10/325's 2 times a day and those are twice as strong as the ones you've got I weigh about 170 lbs and have been doing this for chronic back pain for years
I would suggest you not take more then 6 a day and you should not take more than 3 at once
A word of warning: THESE ARE HIGHLY ADDICTIVE SO BE VERY CAREFUL AND DO NOT USE FOR LONG PERIODS OR YOU LL GET HOOKED!

Because of the way the tablet is formulated, the acetaminophen (which is the more liver toxic) component must be watched. In this case 325mg. This would limit the maximum daily dose you can take; In this case to 2 tablets every 4-6hrs would be an absolute maximum if you are an otherwise healthy adult.
Always check with your doctor if you have questions

I thought oxycontin is time released and could not be crushed not percocet, because you take oxycontin twice a day9it last 8+ hours) and percocet every 4 hours.
I take 8 10/325 a day for my pain and im doing fine

Tylenol (acetaminophen) is a popular American brand of pain reliever and fever reducer, sold by Johnson & Johnson. It is extremely popular because it is available without prescription and it is effective with few side effects, but overdoses of Tylenol are serious and can be fatal. In heavy drinkers, chronic use of acetaminophen increases liver damage from alcohol. Unlike NSAIDs, acetaminophen is not particularly effective against pain from inflammatory disorders.

Percocet is a common pain pill given after dental work. If it isn't strong enough, and you are still in pain, I would call the doc. Let him know how you feel. He may instruct you to take more or even prescribe you something else. But either way, call the doctor first!

One is a pain pill and the other is an antibiotic. They won't interact at all. Just don't take any extra Tylenol (acetaminophen) with it, to protect your liver. >
