I travel a lot for my work (120 flights last year!!!).

The answer is don't put loads of creams on your skin!!!! They stop it from reaching a natural balance and therefore it drys out. Avoid using any perfumes etc as the alcohol in these drys the skin very quickly in an aircraft.

Drink water is fine but don't over do it you wont loose that much water in any one flight.

Dont over wash your skin before you travel, the natural oils in your skin do a much better job of keeping it moist.

If your skin feels dry in the flight just go to the loo and splash some cold water on and pat dry, dont use any soaps etc.

If you really want a strong moisturising cream go to a pharmacy and ask for a tub of Cetomacrogol Cream, Formula A - I use it and it keeps my skin hydrated. It also leaves a sort of Vaseline type layer (Only not as sticky and annoying) on top to help stop any moisture escaping. I think it's only about £4 for 500g. Works for me!

heres what i did once: brought a can of water spray, it says to use it for the beach, but its useful on the plane, and every ten minutes spray it a couple times on you. if you cant find something like that in the stores than just take an empty perfume bottle (completely empty) and fill it with water

I would think the oil blocks out any moisture from your skin. Moisture is water, not oil.

evian has a special moisturizing sray that they sell specifically for flying...it works really well and you can take it with your carry on and lightly mist your face whenever you feel the need for extra moisture...
(they also have lotions) ...they carry evian travel products at sephora...
