I just want to know if that was necessary, because now hes back in emergency's cause he still has some kind of liquids inside of him that may cause infection, and i am really worried for him, if there is someone out there who can answer my questions?

Urinary calculi are solid particles in the urinary system. They may cause pain, nausea, vomiting, hematuria, and, possibly, chills and fever from secondary infection. Diagnosis is based on urinalysis and noncontrast spiral CT. Treatment is with analgesics, antibiotics for infection, and, sometimes, instrumentation, shock wave lithotripsy, or endoscopic surgery.

depends on the patient and the stone.

The stone can be very small (1-3 mm across) in which case it can be eliminated just by loads of drink and some drugs (pain killers and muscle relaxants). The patient ust be in real good health though, because this is long and painful (despite the meds)

Some bigger stones can be cracked by a special ultrasound machine, then eliminated as above.

If the stone is really big it might have blocked the flow of urine to the bladder- which means the kidney gets _destroyed_ within a few weeks. In such a case there is no point in keeping the dead kidney in- it will simply rot and cause more problems.
If so, the operation is rather serious- simply because the kidneys are difficult to reach surgically. Which means the patient will take longer to recover. Simply put, the more tissues have been cut, the longer it takes to heal. If he is old, then the healing process takes even longer.
There are other possible complications, including infections, etc. A good doctor should (IMO) take the time and explain all the details.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.
