I have a ring that I bought for my fiance 3 days ago, and had I love you inscribed inside the band. She broke it off after receiving the ring, and I took the ring away from her and left. I now have another girlfriend that I love so much. Can I give her (my new girlfriend) this ring and ask her to marry me instead? Would that be wrong?

3 days ago you broke it off with one girl and you are already ready to marry another? Hope she knows enough to RUN FAST!

Excuse me? You bought the ring for your fiancee three days ago? And now you're in love with another girl? And you want to marry her? That is incredible!!! For a start, I doubt you are in love with anyone or anything except the idea of getting married. You cannot possibly know in less than 3 days that you want to marry someone. Second, to give the girl you want to marry a ring you bought for someone else is incredibly tacky.

Noooooooooo! Take the ring to a jewelry store and exchange it for another ring. If the store won't take it, pawn the thing. But do NOT give the ring to the new girlfriend.

The only exception to this rule would be if the ring were a family heirloom.

well first of all, how can you love a girl after 3 days? and if you were dating her before your fiance dumped you, then why did you even ask her to marry you?
second of all, if the "new" girl knows that you had given the ring to another girl, don't do it, and if she doesn't know, make sure there's no way she could possibly find out, cause that would be bad, trust me

Personally, I think if she finds out that she is getting a "hand me down" ring, she could possibly be hurt. As a woman, we want to think of our engagement as OURS, not receiving a ring once meant for another girl. We don't want to feel like second choice.....you know? I don't think that I would want to wear a ring that wasn't picked out for me....with me in mind. You could instead, trade in the old ring on another one to avoid any hurt feelings.

Not if you want to end the relationship. Sell the ring, use the money to buy a new (and better) one.
