He's had this fever for about 4 days now. He says it will go away for a couple of hours but come right back. His doctor says tylenol and advil but that doesnt help. He's been off work for 3 days but now has no sick time and is at work because he cant afford to stay home. Is there a doctor in the house?

Alternate Tylenol and Motrin every four hours. Lots of fluids. Lots of rest. Is he bundled up with the heat up? That only helps to contain the fever.

He can try filling the bathtub with slightly cool (not cold) water and relaxing in it for a little while. And also keep up with the advil every 4-6 hours (but make sure he takes it with food.)
Depending on how high his fever is...and if it remains resistant to going and staying down, he will have to go to the doctor. If it is at 102 or higher and won't go down after another day or so, he needs to see the doctor.

First of all, it sounds like he needs to see a different doctor. If the fever is caused by an infection he'll need antibiotics.

Try Tylenol Cold and get plenty of rest and don't overexert yourself. If that doesn't work, he needs to see a dr. and tell that dr. that he's had a fever for a week. What is his temp?

he needs an antibiotic to fight the infection off....he need to go to the ER ASP. So he can get the antibiotics. sounds to me his regular doctor don't know what to do.
