My Nikon D200 has a metal body. So does the Canon 30D. The discontinued Canon 20D is probably the cheapest dSLR with a metal body: $900 retail. Great camera. These are all 'semi-pro' models. And of course, all of the professional bodies are nearly bullet-proof, too.
You won't find any entry level dSLR cameras with a metal body because build quality is the first thing that manufacturers skimp on to cut costs.
If 'SLR' was a typo, look into the Olympus Stylus 720 SW (http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/product.asp?product=1225 ). This point & shoot with a metal body is guaranteed to be shock-proof up to 5 feet and waterproof up/ down to 10 feet. I can't find anything about flame throwers or battery acid, however ;-)

Why is it so important to have metal body? It is a camera, after all, not a hummer.
Pentax K100d has metal internal frame.
However, all major dSLR guys put very good chassis, though plastic. After all the stability of the mechanical moving parts depend on how well the camera body can hold.
