Go to the grocery store and go to the area with the seasonings. Ground sage is - you got it - the color of sage. :-)

Sage is a darker, softer shade. Peridot is a lighter and brighter.

Peridot is more of a yellow-green, whereas sage is a dustry grayish green. Sage is darker.
