Wow, he really is being a jerk, isn't he? Just don't back down and start pretending to be comfortable with it. Can you get your mom to speak to him?

There are lots of things that people will say without thinking, and maybe this is one of them. It may be that you dad is really just trying to make light of the situation, but doesn't realise it's in bad taste. It may be worth simply telling him that the remarks upset you and your boyfriend, because simply keeping quite is just going to make things more awkward for you when your dad and boyfriend are together.

your dad just doesn't like him , probably because he's scared you'll get hurt . when we don't like someone we pick on whatever discrepancy we can find , if your guy was ginger your dad would probably make an issue of it , it just seems worse because your guys suffering from something we all sympathise with anyway , dad's not perfect and neither is anyone else , only time will cure this if your relationship lasts longer than your dad's fear .

ps if you record him saying it and then write it down in black and white and show it to him it might get a reaction .

Maybe you could record a comment or two of his when he is talking negatively about your boyfriend so he can actually hear himself. He may not even realize he is doing this. Best of luck.

Send him on Celebrity Big Brother! Sorry, only kidding. You really need to get him to see what he's doing....

Tell him it upsets you and isn't fair on your boyfriend. Ask him not to do it. Say if he feels he needs to vent his thoughts, perhaps he would be kind enough to do it out of yours and your boyfriends earshot.
