My wife is 5' 3 1/2" tall and about a buck in a half and I love here just the way she is. I have never told her in 19 years she is fat or needed to lose any weight what so ever.

I personally think that woman in your size will always complain and say things like "I need to lose a few pounds, etc." And the women who are over weight may say the same thing and really only a handful succeed.

I work around women that are 5'6" & 5' 9" and way in at 130 or less and say the same thing all day long. They never do and I just think they are looking for some attention.

First of all, I don't believe in going by weight because it's misleading. You could have two women, both 5' 2" at 120lbs and one could wear a size ten pant while the other wears a four! MUSCLE WEIGHS MORE THAN FAT.

Are you exceptionally muscular? Are you comfortable at this weight, or have you been consuming more calories than your body needs, thereby causing you to weigh a bit more than your body's 'set point'?

I was a gymnast and have been a little powder keg of muscle ever since. I weigh far more than anyone would imagine; at 5'4" I wear a size 0-2 pant but weigh in at 120-123 (that's my buck-naked-1st-thing-in- the- morning-weight), yet I get told constantly that I'm WAY TOO THIN. I feel just right where I am. Do you?

SO, for all the people who said you need to lose a few pounds without even having all the info, shame shame shame!! They'd have likely said the same of me.....much to the chagrin of all my friends that worry that I'm UNDERWEIGHT! =P

Hope I have been of help to you-
Kelly

No, you do not need to lose weight. You are at a healthy weight for your height. Do not judge yourself by what you see on celebrities and models. They are not healthy, do not look healthy and should not be a standard by which women judge themselves. If you feel good and healthy, have an active life that you are happy with, good friends and family, then your weight is just an insignificant number. Be happy with who you are inside and don't worry about the outside.

It all depends on who you are trying to please what type of job you are doing. I am in a male dominated field and need strength to do my job. When I was a size 5 I was too weak to crawl down into man holes and jumb from roof to roof. I need some muscle and fat on me to perform my job better. Not only that but I was attacked by a guy at work, picked up and thrown when I was smaller because I could not defend myself. I gained some weight (size 12), got stronger and then found him busted his jaw and then picked him up and threw him. Tiny, frail, women can't defend themselves as well as a larger woman can.

I would say a few, but your the only one who can determine that. How do you feel about yourself ~ 5'2 and 120, I would say maybe 5 lbs and that's just me.

I have assumed you are an adult. The answer is No . You fall smack dab in the middle of the normal range. Below is a link to a BMI calculator so you can check for yourself.

your body fat percentage should determine if you need to lose weight or not. but if your body fat is at average levels for your age group there is surely nothing wrong with your current weight.
