We live in west sussex and our 15 yr old neighbour has offered to babysit. both kids will be asleep and she just has to watch tv and eat popcorn. how much should we pay her. 2-3 hrs.

Whatever you pay her, remember that even though your kids are sleeping, you need her to be there if you want to go out. If you go too low just because they are sleeping, she may find another sitting job elsewhere where they pay better. For a $15 yr old, I think $20 for 2 kids, for 3 hours is very reasonable. I only charge $10/hr, and I am a professional nanny with an early childhood degree, and 18 years experience.

I would only pay her $5 an hour, what is she doing sitting there with the kids. I know a woman that charges $10 a day to watch children for 4 hours.

Well i get payed about 4-5 dollars an hour so about 10-15 dollars.

well when i babysit i dont charge much cause i love kids but i would say 7.50 10 or maybe 15 it depends i got paid overnite jobs mostly and i got paid 30 or 40 or sumtimes 20 for overnite feed bath take care f of them out them to sleep but it was al babys agaes 3 months to 1 year so

I think it's still a responsibility to watch kids but if there going to be asleep I say about $25 and a 15yr old should be pleased.

It's 6.50 here for a registered sitter, so I would go less than that. She may just be watching tv, but she's doing what you do - making sure the kids are ok so don't be too tight, she may not offer to do it again.
