Yes and No.
We are surely independant in the field of Science and Technology,Agriculture,Literature and Arts.
We are dependant on religious systems which do not allow birth control and our population growth is dangerously galloping and is eating away all the fruits of development in Science and Technology.
We are dependant on political system which is happy to keep people illiterate so that they can be controlled easily for creating vote banks. We are also dependant on the corruption which is reaching the bones of our democracy and it is really a miracle that we do so much progress in spite of all odds.
Our people are peace loving but are pawns in the hands of politicians.
Yes we are both dependant and independant.

Indie Bands. Their music sounds an same. i can hearken to to a pair of Arctic Monkeys and The Libertines' songs, yet i will develop into bored. that's not self reliant anymore, "indie" bands are promoting more desirable than something else. Pop is kinda a type. as an party: ordinary lyrics, solid voice (that's the numerous attraction, gadgets are not really the biggest problem in Pop) So sure, Indie and dad are authentic genres. To me, a minimum of. MQ: Romeo and Juliet - Dire Straits Oh, how became Turkey? :) we've many stuff to atone for, do not we? ;)

Well, is this now the asian Indians or the american indians?
In fact we all (every nation) is somehow dependend on the US. The US then depend on it's economy which is strobgly influenced by the army and arms manufacturers. They then get the money from the banks. In short all nations are dependend on the US stock market. Who was it again that controls this?!
