Ooh - that's the best question I've seen here in ages.
You might direct them to Daniel Dennett's "Breaking the Spell" for a source where they can read about the evolution of religion.

Are you aware that you believe what you believe by faith?
One of the reasons the Dead Sea Scrolls are a big deal: When they took the texts that were found and compared them to texts that WERE NOT AS OLD, it was remarkable how little and if any change had resulted.
When the Dead Sea Scrolls came through this major city, that was the claim the Museum was touting - and those guys are far from Christian Apologists!
Christians are not interested in Religion - with which you agnostics seem to be obsessed. We in fact are trying to cast aside the 'religion' and keep with the scriptures - the final word. This is why we study the Bible, not just sit on Yahoo and make claims that 'sound' truth full, when the truth is "out there".
I like your avatar; in jail, branded with the word PIMP - pimping junk information like this is a 'jailhouse' mentally.
As homework, you might try Micheal Behe's book : Darwins Black Box. Inside you will find a good description, from a bio-chemist of why evolution can not work! Argue your evolution claims with a PH-D.

I am not a "christian", but I have several family members who are. Basically, christians have a problem with evolution because it goes against the whole ":Adam and Eve" thing. They will not accept both. Also, some people do not like the idea of coming from apes, so it may be mentally easier for them to believe in something that has not been "proven". Kind of like a fantasy. You are able to make up your own rules as you go along. I say, to each his own.

Religions evolve (or, more likely, deteriorate) over time, because, in general, religion is based on a cultural society and societal mindsets evolve (or revolve). The correlation between religion and biology would indicate that biologically, humanity is deteriorating rather than developing.
We could add that, individually, a spiritual evolution is the essense of Christianity. A process of not using or enacting a human nature, weakened by sin, so that we can adapt to the almighty spiritual nature of God in his holiness.

All religions change over time. Especially Christianity - in fact a "New" gospel is the entire basis of Christianity (Old vs. New Testaments for example).
Not sure where you're getting your info....?

In denial about biological evolution?
Evolution is only a theory, sir. It's never been proven -- and, in fact, is not supported by the fossil record.
The only ones "in denial" are the ones who seem to worship at the altar of evolution -- even though there's more evidence for the existence of God than the reality of evolution.

"in denial" means that you refuse to face some fact. It's not evolution that we refuse, it's the idea that life is all an accident of nature. Concerning religion, yes, it changes, but God doens't.

When it all comes down to it, there really are only two choices to believe in. Either the universe came from a Supreme Being, or it came from nothing. Both take faith to believe, and neither one can be proven with science. Evolutionists have to exept it sooner or later.
Matching: please write your answer in the blank provided:
The universe came from ____.
a. nothing
b. God

Read the last few lines in Revelations. My God does not change. My God doesn't go back on his word. My God is pure. I suggest the King James verison of the bible as it is a direct translation, and has NOT changed.
