no i had my first child at 31 and except for the gestational diabetes everything went fine. And the gestational diabetes had nothing to do with my age. after 40 you should start to be concerned.

Are you kidding? Women are having babies well into their 40s these days, though for some that IS risky. There is always SOME risk, but 30 is generally pretty good, even early these days. It depends more on the health and genetic makeup of the individual, moreso than it depends on age. So a woman should discuss pregnancy with her doctor, who can evaluate her specific situation better than anyone on Yahoo Answer is going to be able to do!

No, that isn't any longer volatile. even as there's a moderate decline in fertility interior the early 30's, maximum females are fertile and in a position to have toddlers into their previous due 30's and early 40's. And once you're asking abour threat on your health or genetic defects -- no longer an concern till the previous due 30's.

Absolutely Not if she is healthy. If she has a compromised immune system or other health issues it could be very risky for her or child. A Washington Mother of 8 who was 56 years old gave birth to triplets and she was not trying to get pregnant. Her babies were healthy.

No, 30 is still very young. You really don't have much to worry about until you're over 40....that's when pregnancy is more dangerous. My sister started her family when she was 36 and her girls are now 22 and 24. She has been a very active Mom and still is. She had no problems whatsoever.

From a genetic defect standpoint, the baby has the best chance of being normal when the mom is 22. The odds of a defect go up year by year. A 30 year-old is something like 2-3 times more likely to have a birth defect than a 22 y.o., but the odds are still small. The key is good perinatal nutrition, and we now know that folic acid supplements greatly reduce genetic defects. Take your folic acid. and talk to the doctor.

No. It is a prime child bearing age. Physical and mental maturity makes for a good mother. There are no extraordinary physical dangers to the mother or child.
