The FBI maintains a national database of criminal records and the only way they delete anything is if it is found to be an error. This is not a credit report where things drop off after 7 years. Trust the LEOs (law enforcement officers) who have answered your question, not Joe Blow off the street. When potential employers due background checks, the FBI records (known as NCIC) is what is checked. Trust me.

Forever.unless you did the crime when you were under age.they expunge it then at a certain age.usually in my State anyway. you have to wait a few years and can apply for a pardon after you did whatever crime you did.they will usually give it to you if you haven't gotten into trouble for some years.Good luck you stay out of trouble now so you can get that pardon . you hear?

A criminal background isn't like poor credit; this will stay with you, felony or not, for the rest of your life.

7 years I speak from experience unlike people who say for life. Misdemeanors are removed from your record 7 years from the time of conviction.

If you are an adult and have been convicted of a crime you have it forever. Whenever you apply for a job you have to put that as information on the application.
