Like you're afraid to ask them if you can hang out with him and his friends(co-ed group) or you're shy to talk to him because you think he's really cute but afraid of rejection of ignorance?

Is that lack of confidence? How to overcome this and not care about being rejected or ignored but not smothering and stuff?

Suggestions?

It could be a lack of self confidence in the persons appearence, verbal skills, or being comfortable with the individuals in the group.

Face it ...no matter how confident your may be some folks just make ya feel nearvous and like ya don't wanna be there.

Shy isn't bad ... shy just hasn't come to understand we are all just here for a little while ....and if we say or do the wrong thing ...it happens ...thats how we grow, how we learn.

You'll never learn how to run if your afraid to walk!

Be Happy !

Yes. Some guys are also shy around you. So don't let it cost you a good friendship with a great guy. Girls have the upper hand though. If you like a guy all you have to do is give him *that look* and if he's interested, he'll follow through and come to you. If he's not, it won't be a public humiliation for you. So give him a wink and a smile the next time you see him. If he doesn't follow up, move on. Woman Up, dammit!!

Being shy is immature. You need to grow up and stop hiding behind your "shyness". None of us want to be rejected, but rejection is a part of life. Some guys will prefer you and others will not. That's just the way it is. Stop acting like a child and you'll get more respect from the people around you.

In my opinion, it is lack of self confidence as well as hesitation. This happens becase we are afraid about what's gonna happen the very next moment. The only way to overcome this is to to not think about it. Just be cool when you are in front of someone and try to feel comfortable. Be positive in your behaviour and try to be humourous. Try this out. It will surely work.

It could be alittle of both. That you are affraid of rejection or just just shy. Try to spend a little one on one time to get to know the person first b4 u hang out with the fellas. But if u are affraid to even ask to hang out with just him then kick up your courage and try it. If u was to be turned down then the guy is not worth it.. ; )

This is quite typical of all Young Adults, it is one of the most daunting things we can experience. It may be a lack of confidence... that we all experience.
Listen to the conversations and perhaps make comments or jokes, partaking in any conversations in topics in which you are confident about.

it is normal
when u talk to someone u like
u will feel this way
it is OK to feel afraid
talking to someone u like is like
jumping into a pool with freezing water
u are afraid that it is cold so u will hesitate
juz take a deep breath and take the plunge
try to take about things that u know about
that way it will be easier for u to talk to him
as u will not be speechless
or try to imagine that u are talking to one of your friends
u mst not have the mentality that he will reject u
u mst keep telling urself he is not someone u like
treat him like anyone else
so u will not be intimidated by him
so good luck :)

It sounds like lack of confidence, just remember he is no better than you nor is anyone else, we are all just people. Smiling also is a sign of confidence. People are attracted to confident people not the weak ones.

It is lack of confidence to a degree, but too much confidence leads to arogance and big ego, so aim for the balance.
