The Prepaired Childbirth class I took was at the hospital I delivered at. It was a 6 week course that we attended for 3 hours 1 night a week. We covered everything from bodily changes durring pregnancy to childbirth to aftercare for both you and the baby. Of course emotional changes were also addressed but not nearly as indepth. We discussed comfort measures for labor, when to leave for the hospital, what to pack, what to expect, and possibly complectations. We watched the delivery videos (don't eat beforehand and don't freak out, it's not as bad as it looks). I learned very little from the classes because I am the last of my friends to have a baby. I've also been in the delivery room several times with friends. I had plenty of exposure though if you haven't I would suggest the classes. I didn't use any of the breathing exercises while delivering. I do suggest though if you don't attend the classes at least get the video and book combo "The Happiest Baby on the Block". That was the most useful information I got out of all the classes.

Labor classes are just like 2-3 classes you have an option to take. They talk to you and show you videos about whats happening to your body and shows you a birth. Its kinda gross. They also tell you how to care for yourself right after the baby is born and they show you how to care for the baby also. They also show you breastfeeding techniques. Its useful but some things are just common sense. It does get you excited though to know your little one will soon be on the way. Oh and the most important thing is that they show you how to breath during labor.

You basically just watch videos and talk about experiences! I used some of the techniques they taught me while delivering, but a lot of stuff was a waist of time. It was nice to get out with my b/f and go to Lamaze and talk about baby and stuff!
