Length of 35 deg. cable= 632.2277 ft.

Trig your way through it.
make 100 yards the hypotenuse of a triangle created when you run a line perpendicular from 35 deg. line to 100 yard and 59 deg. intersection thereby making two right triangles. Use Cos. function to find adjacent side (Cos. 35 deg.=.81915 X 100= 81.9152), Sin. function to find opposite side (Sin. 35 deg.=.57357 X 100= 57.3576).
Now take 90-35=55. 55+59=114. 180-114=66 (66 deg. is the working angle of the next triangle.
Use Tan. function to find opposite side of 66 deg. angle using 57.3576 as adjacent length, (Tan. 66 deg.=2.24603 X 57.3576= 128.8272).
Add 128.8272 + 81.9152= 210.7424 yards or (X3) = 632.2272 feet.

Trig answer= 632.2272 feet
Cad answer= 632.2277 feet

I hope this helps...it's been a VERY long time since I had trig... this should get you started. Be sure to check your work. I'm not confident this is correct, but it's what I would start with.

Solve for the height of the building first.

y is the height of the building. X is the furtherest distance (w/ angle of 35) and x-100 is the 2nd distance (w/ angle of 59)

y/x= tan(35) and y/x-100 is tan(59) so y= x times tan(35) =(x-100) times tan(59) solve for x.

Solve the triangle 180= a+b+c (where a, b, & c are the angles). Use the same formula above to solve for the other segment and then use the pythageron therom to solve for the cable length (aka the hypotoneuse) c2=b2+a2

this question does not make sence... if the cable makes an angle of 35degrees from the ground level than what is the 59degrees for? the two degrees coencide with each other. although working both equations if it were 35 degrees it would be 100 divide 35cos=x therefor x=122.07

working with 59degrees the equation 100 divide 59cos=x therefore x=194.16

i think lol havent done my geometery in a while now
