So, a customer buys a Vista Capable PC, only to find out it is not really capable of running the full Windows Vista. Once you dig deeper on the Microsoft or manufacturer website, you find out that they define "capable" differently than the ordinary use of the term. "Capable" actually means "partially capable" or "not fully capable" because it won't run the Aero interface. Sounds like Clinton-speak to me. Is that deceptive advertising or what????

You've got to wonder why a computer would be labeled as "capable" of running an operating system in the first place. This suggests that a computer might not be capable of running an operating system at all. What good is it then?

If I bought a computer and found out it was not able to run an operating system to any degree I'd take the thing back and demand my money back. This is like selling a computer that won't run, or a car that has no transmission (it WILL work going downhill). You could also say that such a car was "capable" of 100 miles per gallon, which probably any gas-guzzling SUV can get coasting downhill.

Reason #57334 to run http://pclinuxos.com

It can run all processes in any Pentium class system, up to 50X faster.

I am sitting here on a 800mhz Dell Dimension 4100, and have only ten desktops working at the moment. There are 20 desktop environments, paged in the toolbar.

I have 5500 FREE games, programs, science applications, browsers, Office Suites, forensic tools, net tools, etc.

I can switch among "users".

The concurrent multi-tasking, multi processing environment lets every one of upto 200 open windows, in each of 20 desktops, continue to process. Nothing stops to wait for anything else. No crashes due to opening a fourth, or a four thousandth, window!

This is what Vista would hope to be and do, but, it is impossible.
Then, PCLOS is immune to the "114,000 Microsft Virus Definitions" because, like all the 500+ Unix clones, it is secure by default.

You mean Microsoft.....was dishonest to us? *gasp!* Nothing in life makes sense anymore!

lol what did you expect? Gates and the Evil Corporation only want money, they will do whatever it takes to get it. That is why "Vista Capable" usually means it is only capable of running "Vista Home Basic", which is the version without Aero, security, and all that junk.

Vista is capable of a custom fit for the hardware that it's run on. That's actually not a terrible idea
