Do you just need a short term loss - like to fit into a dress? If so, you can loose a lot of water weight by drinking water (i know that sounds counter-productive, but it flushes your system) and wrapping yourself in saran wrap under a sweatsuit. Obviously, not your head - but rather your midsection and hips). You can eat a high protein diet (shrip, lettuce, brown rice) restricitng yourself to around 1000 calories a day as well. This is NOT long term. The only way to lose weight long term and KEEP it off is to lose it slowly - highly recommend Weight Watchers. It's healty and safe. www.weightwatchers.com

Anything more than 2 pounds per week is not healthy. Weight that comes off any faster comes back with a vengence WITH interest!
Cut out all sugar and most oils (fried foods) and lower your portions a bit. Get a video of strenghth training and two 5 pound weights. By Valentines day, you'll be 8-10 pounds lighter and I think that's pretty darn fast. It's not 10 pounds in a week, but that's not real weight loss, that's just a numbers game with your scale and guess who the loser of that game will be? It's a waste of time to try and do it any faster than 2 pounds per week.
Good luck.

I was on the south beach diet and lost 60 pounds. I now weigh 190 and have a flat stomach and no fat on me. I lost about 5 lbs a week and have no problem keeping it off. I have changed my diet and weight is not coming back. 2 years now. Feel much better and have allot more energy. You can loose it quick and keep it off I know I have done it... It is still true if you don't change your diet you will get it back plus some. It is a way of life and it is worth it..

There is no healthy and quick way to lose weight. It didn't get there overnight, so why do you expect it to come off like that?
