The basic degree of an Associates of Applied Science.

I don't need it for a job..I already work, but just to have....and possibly build on later in life....

better than nothing or pointless?

I don't plan on getting a 4 year degree or using it to advance in my current career....it would be just to have...

I am not a big fan of school....I actually was suprised to find out I was that close to a regular associates.......

I think it's worth finishing up if you're close. Even though you don't need it right now, it's better to have it tucked away if your company ever downsizes (and might cut those who don't have any college degree/experience), or if you quit your current job and wish to start a new one. Having a degree just puts you that much more ahead of other applicants/workers IMO. There are also jobs out there that might not require a degree, but put you into a higher paid level upon starting if you have one.

Also, wouldn't it be much easier to finish it up right now rather than waiting until you're older and forgotten everything about taking classes, etc.?

All that said, if finishing it would be a huge pain in the butt (could you take online classes maybe?) then you just have to weigh the pros and cons. I'm very pro-school since it's helped me in my career. And my best friend who didn't finish his AA has definitely been limited as far as what jobs he can apply for, even within his field that does not necessarily require a college ed. With an AA, even if you apply for a job that requires a BA, if you at least have that AA degree, they may still consider you if they like your work experience.

Correction, you don't need it for the job you have now. There are plenty of jobs out there that simply require a college degree without being specific of the major. It may also be that a degree is required to get promoted at your current place of employment. Unless you planning on staying at you current job for your entire career, getting a degree is a very good idea.

ok, so from your life goal's maybe this is all you need for now.

It is time to be aware of the changes, so what do you wanted to different? Do you think you have the resources (in terms of time, effort and [of course] money to get there?)

Did you want to explore other field that interest you, if so then you can find out to blend this with addition short courses with what you are doing (if that fits with your goals at the moment!)

Just assume that you may not have a job next week at short notice, do you think your degree plus your referee (from your employer) will help you in getting your next job. Comparing with another person may not be the answer (they may feel negative about it and may not present the correct feedback you wanted to change)

Have fun looking, so don't stop now just because you are not sure (based on) what someone is telling you.

Way better, and make way more income anually than only a person with a high school diploma. Get it.
