Not sure when your exams are but it's not the best idea to stay up all night cramming for a test- although practically all of us have done it a time or two. It is better to study for a set period of time every day, well in advance of your exam. Your brain will be better able to work through tough questions if you've had a good nights sleep and a healthy breakfast. I have tried it both ways back in my day and I truly believe I did better not staying up all night. The lack of anxiety alone will make test taking easier on you.

You are smart to say no to coffee and energy drinks though. Soda and chocolate have the same effects. All of these things will greatly contribute to anxiety on the morning of the exam. If you truly must stay up all night, I liked the bananas and pecans idea. Also, any other fruit, nuts, veggies, etc. Fresh, whole foods (foods bought in the produce section) are always better brain food than anything that comes in a box. Another thing that may help is exercise and fresh air. Every hour or so, go outside for a short walk or run. If you can't go outside, get some fresh air from your window and do some sit ups or jog in place for a few minutes.

Good luck on your exams!

Bananas are great for energy.
And they're good for you, unlike the coffee & coke & chocolate & other candies that everyone else is suggesting.

I'd go with coke to drink personally. Caffine and sugar, a gamers best friend for late night gaming and a friend to anybody who generally wants to stay up late.
