If twin boys married twin girls, and they each had a set of twin baby girls, would the twin sets look alike?

I've been thinking about this forever!

I would think that there would be a lot of similarities since they would all be drawing from the same gene pool, but they wouldn't have to. For example, one set of baby twins might get their mother's (and therefore aunt's) eyes. The other set of twins might get their father's (and therefore also their uncle's) eyes. So they're drawing from the same gene pool, but not necessarily coming up with the same variation of genes.

The answer is yes, provided both couples are identical twins and their children are identical twins as well. Fraternal twins, developed from seperate ovum, do not share the same genetic code, and would not neccesarily look alike , any more than ordinary brothers and sisters.

Having said that, they would not resemble each other to the extent that they would had they been developed from a common ovum. Look-alike? Yes. Clones? No. Not to the extent of identical twins. Each ovum and sperm carries genetic traits that may span generations, and in this scenario, you will see traits emerge that are not evident with either couple.

They would have a family resemblance, but would not look alike. Look at the genetics surrounding them. For any trait, the children would have a maximum of 25% chance of having the same genetic code for the trait. Besides, what if the twins were fraternal?

They would definitely look alike if the parents were identical twins. They might even resemble each other if the parents were fraternal twins. But unless everyone was genetically engineered, they wouldn't match completely.

no the twin sets wouldn't look alike necessarily, unless the twins had the same twin set knitting pattern or they bought the twinsets from the same shop as one another! lol

Yes they would look alike but there are so cases that two people can be twins but not look alike but I think in this case they would look alike.

Not necessarily. They may take after their great grant parents too. The genes do not work on mathematical progression.
