What is the sentance for a felon who escaped from an Indiana State prison and has been caught and returned?

This is not because I am a convict, or know someone who is. I was the victim of a crime (identity theft) by a man who escaped from Liberty Hall in Indianapolis last year. He was caught and is being sent back to Indiana soon. He won't face charges in my case because no law enforcement agency (I'm in Illinois) with claim jurisdiction and prosecute.

Mainly, I just want to know he's facing a good long time in jail.

Approximately 8 to 10 years depending on if you threatened anyone, hurt anyone, destroyed state property, what your initial crime was, and if it was your 1st escape attempt or not. Remember though, it will also have an affect in the future whether or not you get moved to a lesser security prison, if you are eligible for work release, or outside the prison jobs, how many years you end up with on Parole and whether or not a family emergency such as a funeral comes up. Once you have an escape charge, you're pretty much screwed.

Escaping from a State Prison is a Federal crime. The minimum sentence is 10 years, but it can be greater if he destroyed State property (cut a fence, dug a hole, etc.) or if he hurt or threatened anyone on his way out or once he got out.
