a male freind of mine has developed sores on his tongue and feet which he asked me about yesterday! but I have no idea and can't find any reference to it online.
his tongue has a couple of round sores on it about half a cm across that look like they have been scooped out (the taste buds are missing and red flesh is exposed) this has happened a couple of times over the last few months for no apparent reason.

secondly on his left foot he periodically develops a few 'blisters' which are tender to touch and contain clear fluid. The skin underneath is pitted and the blisters harden after a few days and then fall off.

Does anyone have any ideas what these could be and whether they are related?

He is otherwise healthy and has a balanced diet and exercises moderately....

Are there any good resources on the web I can send him a link of to investigate this further?

Thanks

Thanks all for your advice. It seems his conditions are not related after all. The sored in his mouth are Canker sores and the blisters on his feet are a form of Athletes Foot!

if it is foot and mouth desease there is no treatment for it my daughter gets it a couple times a year once you get it you keep getting it pretty much for the mouth sore they say mix benadryl liquid with kaopectate and swish it around your mouth that is the only remedy for the mouth it coats it and sooths it. Check his hands does he have a rash there. You dont need all three symptoms. My daughter only gets it in her mouth some people only there hands and feet. This is very contagious though so keep your distance. He also may get other syptoms like really bad breath, Head ache, and pretty much feel like crap. Just try to treat the syptoms for now. I hope this helped. Good luck

It sounds to me that it is nerves and when I think of nerves the first thing to come in my mind is Herpes Virus.

Sores on the tongue and clear blisters on the feet perhaps his hands too?

It sounds like Herpes Virus, but can be allergy too.

he should seek medical help, and you need to not touch as it could be contagious, he should have a doc check it out as it could be something very serious

Tell him to go to the doctor - especially about the mouth lesions which sound potentially nasty.
