Driving statistics?

Question

Does anybody know any statistics/sites? with statistics on driving tests and accidents?

eg. Are poeple who have failed a test are they more likely to be involved in an accident. or anything like that?

Sorry just to clarify I mean, if you were to pass first time, are you a better driver than someone who took 2 tests for instance? statistics to back it up?

Without statistics, I can tell you that some very good drivers fail a Driver's Test due to ONE error, such as turning right at a light just as the light turns amber, or an unexpected pedestrian comes running across a crosswalk from behind a building or some such thing.
A poor driver can pass a Driver's test because they lucked out. They had all the green lights, nothing happened, not much traffic, etc.
I have been teaching Driver Education for 35 years. I have never gone off the road or crashed or been hit. I have had many close calls, but due to my training and years of being cautious, knowing anything can happen at any time, I have never been in a driving incident.
Statistics say that the more miles one drives, the higher the risk factor goes up for being involved in a crash, loss of control or rollover.
I know this, and I remain cautious and drive with that fact in the back of my mind.
THINK AND DRIVE is my mantra.

From personal experience it doesn't make you a better driver just because you pass the test the first time. I passed the test on the first try. My brother took 4 times to pass. Both of us have been involved in about the same number of accidents. I have a few more speeding infractions.

Driving a car is a pretty simple exercise. If you didn't pass the test the first time, I fail to see how you turn into a better driver if you pass it the second time round.

It's those people who sit on the middle lane of the motorway at 65mph thinking that they're promoting safety because they've got more room around them. Yeah - except anyone who wants to pass has to squeeze through in the outside lane so you're actually causing more manoeuvres to take place than are necessary.

I would say they would be more likely to be in accident if they have failed their test. Once they have passed it and shown they have the standard recognised capability, then I would think the statistics would be even. Oh, people without a head crash more generally.

If you mean driving without a licence, I am sure that the police web sites would be able to furnish the amount of convictions based on driving without a licence.

If you mean - mulitple test failures before passing, not sure, but probably worth a research grant.

well i wud never agree tht if u pass ur test on the first time.. u r a better driver ..
coz if u have failed once or twice .. and wen u pass.. its like u havae learned frm ur mistakes.. u wud never repeat tht mistakes again..
so wen u have passed ur test and meet the same situation again wen driving u wud never repeat it.. tht is the whole point of u failing the test. it is never bcoz of lack of driving skills..
& + ppl who pass the test on the 1st time make more accidents coz they think tht they r better ..but the things is tht wen u pass the test it means tht u r upto the standards..doesnt matter if u passed it on the first or the 10nth

do not forget to function interior the SUV's. those are consistently unhappy, jogs my memory of returned south and all of the inebriated drivers.
