I want to use my empty wine bottles in a creative way and fill my empty wall space at the same time. I can't think of anything except to put up shelving and display the wine bottles on them.

Just like some folks use bricks or cinder block and boards to make shelving, try substituting the bottles for the bricks. Place two or three bottles in a cluster, space them two to three feet apart and lay a board on top. If you stack them very high, maybe you should find a way to connect them for stability. Maybe a dab of super-glue on the edge of each bottle in the cluster.

good luck

Starting from the floor, lay your bottles perpendicular to your wall -front to back (to get a snug fit), and stack them all the way up to the ceiling.
You can place tiny light bulbs inside a few bottles for added effect.
I saw this kind of bottle wall many many years ago, to close an entire balcony and to hide unattractive views - also conferring a lot of privacy to a room. Absolutely great with the sun shining through, and yet a wall thin enough to allow air movement.

I would hang some shelves with some lights than place the bottles in front of the light. Use light bulbs with watts under 60 for the color of the bottles don't be suppresses by the shine of the light. If the bottles are not colored, do just the opposite. Gets colored lights bulbs to trespass the bottles but you get a better effect if the bottles are colored.

I wonder if you have a lot of wall space because you have so many empty wine bottles, just kidding, but couldn't resist. I know people have done some unique things with bottles but I am not that creative, I just liked your question. Good Luck!

yes, hang shelves, but space them with different spaces, so they do not look too uniform...under 2 or 3 shelves hang black lights....then as you place your bottles find a few clear ones and fill them with water and drop some food coloring in them....place these bottles under the black lights...they will glow in these colors and look really cool at night. There is nothing wrong with decorating with things that cost little or nothing, you just have to use your imagination to make them unique.

We use to make terraiums from different bottles including wine. Cut the neck to use on the base and the bottom of bottle is where u fill with soil, plants and things. U can also fill with colored pebbles, glass beads.

Depending on the various shape of your wine bottle u may be able to convert to hold a Siamese Fight fish in water with a plant like a lily growing on top.

My hubby fills them with Vinegar or olive oil and different herbs, beans, chiles etc in layers. Tie some raffi around the neck. I had a friend break various color glass with sample color tile and make a mosaic picture to hang on their wall. She used a special small ceiling light to shine on the display which reflected like a prism. Using various bottles u can display alot of thing, I saw where a woman displayed her necklaces in her bedroom in a wall inlet...

When I was a kid, my parents' friends had a stretched 7-Up bottle that I found fascinating. I found one similar here: http://auctions.yahoo.com/i:Vintage%20Stretched%207UP%20Quart%20Bottle:210056977

I don't know whether wine bottles would stretch as well as 7-Up (different thicknesses?) but it is definitely creative and may be something to look into!

Do you own the place or are you renting? If you own it, my suggestion would be to break the bottles and make a mosaic directly on the wall, otherwise you could always make a wall-size (or mearly as big) mosaic on some other sort of media and hang it on the wall.

My aunt made a bottle tree. It is fairly simple and really cool way to display your bottles without taking up lots of room. Here are links to pix and patterns.

Put candles in the wine bottles and let the wax drip down the sides. Use different color candles so you get layers of different colors.
