The usual procedure is to use several "portals" to focus on the cancer. It's like three beams of radiation converging on the cancer while the healthy tissue gets only one third the dose. This is to protect you while concentrating on the bad cells. You will most likely still get symptoms of fatigue and a "sunburn" at the points of administration.

See cancer is a terminal disease and to escape from it one has to take dangerous poisons like chemotherapy and radiation. Radiation has many ill effects but the doctors are well learned people and they give only that much radiation that will kill the cancer with barest minimum side effects on you. If they feel that the medicine is more dangerous than the cancer they will not resort to medicine but allow the cancer to take its own course. Anyway be brave , my sister also had breast cancer and her breast has been removed and chemo has started and we are praying that she should recover from her illness and I also pray for your speedy recovery. This pass 3 years more people are surviving cancer. That is because of all the new treatment and the doctor know so much more about our unfriendly big `C . So hang in there and have faith. Your on my prayer list. Hugs
