self respect is never do anything that makes you feel less. It is not letting go of your own morals no matter what. It is taking care of yourself and doing positive things for yourself. Note the your in front of morals, everyones are different, and just because someone acts in way you would find demeaning does not mean that they have no self respect.

Self respect means don't allow anybody to make benefit from you. If we love somebody and we are not getting him or her but trying to get something positive for them is not considered with self respect because in love, the person can do only whatever he/she want to do but can't expect returns.

In a relationship, self respect is taking hold of one's values and setting a line between the self and the other person.

In psychology, self-esteem or self-worth is a person's self-image at an emotional level; circumventing reason and logic. The term differs from ego in that the ego is a more artificial aspect; one can remain highly egotistical, while underneath have very low self-esteem.

No, self-respect is how you feel about yourself. It's how you perceive yourself to be. It's a measure of your values and how you socialize with other people. You want to put forth a good impression where people would say you have "self-respect".
