The United Kingdom has thousands of postcodes (postal codes), each of which is designated to a different location within the country.
The Royal Mail website can give you the correct postcode for any given address in the UK. Follow the link and type in the address for which you need a postcode:

'zip code' is the American name for a postcode.

Post codes are the British equivalent of Zip Codes.

Postcodes identify a set of 20 or so houses, so there is no single post code for the UK, a Town or even a single street.

You can look up a post code on the royal mail website.

In the UK Post Codes designate the area a building is in, in towns and cities they they indicate, say a block of buildings so your house is designated a 'Post Code' eg, CR0 2JD CR (Croydon) 0 (Addington) 2JD the block of houses on the street. Theoretically puting the house no. and post code is all Royal mail needs to identify the address. Zip codes (in the UK) relate to the length, colour and number of teeth per inch in a zip

Zip Code is the American word for Postal Code.

The U.K itself doesn't have a postcode, it varies from area to area depending on where you are.

Post Codes are British, Zip Codes American.

In UK, if you live in Sunderland, for example, your postcode would begin with SR, for Sunderland, then a number (1 being central to the city, and the higher the number, the further out you live). Other cities have other letters to identify them. Then there are other identifying numbers and letters which identify your street. You can actually mail a letter in UK addressing it solely with the postcode, and be confident it will arrive. Or so they say!!
