Do you like and wear the same clothes you wore 10 years ago? Sorry can't understand it when crazes come and go so fast why do you want to be stuck with the same picture on your skin forever?

yer i agree people are going crazy over tatoos. Im personally not a big fan of them and would not get one as i know i would be over it a day or so later.

And who really wants a picture of a dolphin on their stomach that will turn into a whale when they get fat

Well considering I've loved tats since I was gosh held in my uncles arms as a little tot & now close to 40yrs old I don't really think I'll quit liking them. And I started getting them when I was 12 (yes 12 & from a biker friend & that's another story). Then I'd have to say I have no tat's I regret having since they represent a family or close friend or part of my heritage. Well none of that will ever change. I mean I'll never quit loving my children so I think I'll be able to look at my tats forever. I don't do names so I don't have to worry about any of that.

I do understand your point though. There are those out there that get them because everybody else has one. Or their b/f - g/f name and then they break up & then they want a cover up which is a waste. But if they are for (symbolize) something such as mine then that should never change. Tat's should be carefully thought out before getting them inked on you. But ya know the clothes I wore as a teen came back in style now that my kids reached their teens so hey ya never know what the future will bring.

AND HEY KIT - I have a lower back tat (tribal) that i got when I was in mid 30's. I'm not a slutty person - never have been. Even though it is sexy & I like the back side up. Society made it trashy not the person inked. You shouldn't be so judgemental.

This is why I tell young people to wait to get a tattoo until they really know what they want...they are for life and you don't want to have any regrets when you get older... I got my first when I was 23 and I have no regrets...people that are 16, 17, 18 all think that getting a tattoo is just the cool thing to do... then there are people like myself that get tattoo's that represent a part of their life... so to answer your question will I still like my tattoos in 30 years... I'd have to say "yes", if I didn't think before I got them then I might have a different answer...

Some tattoos have meanings, and if they have meanings im sure they will be as special in 10 years + time

I had my tattoo done when i was 18 - to me it means the times where i had fun with my mates and we used to go out alot and it was suppose to be like a rebel thing, im not as sweet and innocent as i look, im a bit cheeky sort of thing! and i still give that impression off today and when people see my tattoo they are like omg wow! lol im gonna be 22 this august

my boyfriend thinks it looks really sexy! and i love it!

I wouldnt of had it anywhere else either (its on my lower back) so i can cover it up if i want to, its not like its on my arms or anything

you can have tattoos touched up as well, my dad has and he had something else done to it and it looked fab, so fresh and new! :)

tattoos arent for everybody - i personally am only having this one done, i do want another one, but i dont know why, and unless i dont know why im not having it done, its like a scar! its on you forever!

Your right many folks will be a tad embarrassed by their tribal marks when older. The World however has not really gone 'mad', tattoos have for thousands of years been an important individual or group statement. The last 150years were a period when they were not so popular. We're just coming back to the old balance.

I love my tattoos and don't give a monkeys what anyone else thinks of them I got an Adam & the Ants logo done for my 30th birthday, had wanted it since I was 15 but didn't have the guts to get it done, had it 6 years now and still love it. Have a barbed wire bracelet under that, not my choice my husband chose it but I like it, on my back is a Bon Jovi album cover, which I plan on adding to when I get the guts to go back, the tattoist was s hit and it is slightly out of shape but a good tattooist and a decent design around it should rectify that problem.

They are for me, not for everyone else to look at, if you don't like it, don't look.

WOW! I was thinking you were going to say he was getting a plain ol tattoo of his wife's face or name on his arm....This is bizarre, without a doubt. Pretty cool idea, though. In fact, I think it is a great idea. Not too many people would do this, but, you never know. It is an idea that may soon become popular when you really think about it.

People that get a tattoo because other people are or because theres a "craze"..then there stupid! and there the ones that will regret getting there tattoos done. I know that there are ALOT of people like me who thought about there tattoo's for a long time and thought through were to get them and all that kinda stuff, and when you do that you will have no reason to regret having it done in "30yrs" time, And people usually have tattoos that mean something to them and are looking foward to having them for 30 years!! You cant judge something you dont have or dont understand.

Where i live all the girls have various designs on there back just above there butt, I think there hilarious as how nice will that look in 50 years time when your at the old people home or how embarrassed are there teenage kids going to be when mum bends over and all there friends can see it!!! I'm sorry but i wouldn't have the same hair style for the rest of my life and I wouldn't be able to have something on me that I'd be sure that i would like the rest of my life. But a few of my friends have them and there happy with them, hell it doesn't hurt me so to each his own.

Aren't you going to grow out of such a shallow mindset in 20-30 years time? Are you still going to be uptight and concerned with everyone else instead of yourself?

I love my tattoos, they have very deep and personal meanings and they mean a lot to me. They help me remember how I've grown and I still like them today, I will still like them tomorrow and will most certainly still love them until the day I die. They are important to me and thats what counts.

i spent a long time wanting a tattoo then a long time finding the design. I made sure I would definately like it before I had it done so feel very responsible about it. Its a beautiful design and I like it a lot, I couldnt care less what people think of it or me and never will.
