No, they are not the same. However, both contain sodium which will induce water retention.

NO, MSG-Mono sodium Glutamate-is used in mainly in Chinese cooking as Flavor enhancer and excess use of it is not healthy.
IODIZED salt is one where Iodide (iodine) salt are mixed to the regular table salt. The Iodine helps in prevention of Goiter, a disease caused due to Iodine deficiency. Though it is regularly added to all commercial table salts, but some experts believe that excess of it could cause other health problems

They both work the same in the body since they are both actually sodium, or "salt". Taste is the only difference. MSG is the only artificially created substance for which we have taste buds for. Wierd, but true, according to my college biology professor. The taste buds can't detect anything else except MSG, but MSG doesn't appear in nature. And some people have a sensitivity to MSG. We also have taste buds just for salt, but it is a natural substance.

now the MSG is sooo bad dont use it cause it is a fake salt plus it will cause u migrain and cancerous problems , by the way many countries it is illeagle to use it in restaurants.
than the iodized salt has no positiv effects to the body, use the sea salt directly from the sea and crushed, it is full of all minerals not like iodized that it was bleached than re putting iod, sea salt pure has more than iodes , u can buy it from healthy or macrobiotic stores,

MSG is an additive that leaves you feeling hungry after a short period of time and is also not good for you and salt is sodium also not very good for you but not bad if only used in moderation.

msg is an additive put into foods to enhance flavour. salt is well...sodium.

not the same.

many people are allergic to msg, others just believe it's a horrible product. lots of companies and restaurants are going the no MSG boat...
