How about Bath? Brighton (although cold at this time of year). Take a look at www.lastminute.com and you might find a really good deal. At this time of year hotels might be quiet so you could get a real bargain - good luck and enjoy!

I could recommend Norfolk/Suffolk area. You have the benefit of Norwich a fine City, Cambridge and the unniversities, the beautiful Norfolk Broads, some lovely countryside with quaint olde world cottages etc, together with the benefits of the beach and the sea - can't beat all that. Wherever you go have a wonderful time.

anywhere but stoke-on-trent. it's a wierd county that time forgot. where they still wear shellsuits and white stillettos with black tights... bristol's cool though. slightly eccentric tho' dead friendly people. great shops, only 2 minutes before you are out in the lush green countryside - ashton court, blaize castle etc. steeped in history. buzzing nightlife, fab restaraunts. check out 'explore@bristol' if you have kids (or even if you don't ;o) heh heh heh) arrived here 11 years ago on way to brum. still here, so it's definately got something!

Try Edinburgh or York... both beautiful historical cities with a proud heritage and great medieval architecture ...

If you prefer the South, then either Exeter, Bath, or Brighton
