People infected with hepatitis C virus often show no symptoms initially, but long term effects can include liver damage and cancer. The virus is transmitted by infected body fluids, and needle sharers are at particular risk. Babies can also be infected by their mothers during birth. No vaccine exists to prevent hepatitis C infection, but treatments are available that are effective in over 50% of cases.

As\all forms of hepatitis, Hepatitis C is dangerous and a serious condition. For more info on the other foirms of hepatitis: http://www.moh.govt.nz/moh.nsf/wpg_index/publications-hepatitis+a+b+c

Do you mean Hepatitis?

If yes, it depends on which one you have.

Hepatitis A is Viral, like as in Virus. There is Hepatitis A, B, C, D and E. .

Hepatitis can be acute meaning it will last less then six months ann the treatment for each type varies.

Hepatitis B is often caused by a blood transfusion or during kidney dialysis.

Hepatitis C is the cause of 80 % of the cases, according the Merk Manual. It arises rom blood transfusions, can be gotten from sharing needles or in rare cases sexually transmited.

Hepatitis C is usually Chronic, meaning on going.

Hepatitis D usually is a co-infection with Hep B.

Hepatitis E is simular to Hep A.

The milder forms require little treatment and usually have no last affects. The more chronic forms can become life treatening if not properly treated. A lot will depend upon your health, as those with cancer and other serious illnesses, it can be life threatening depending on which type of Hepititis they have.

Do what your doctors tell you to do.

My friends brother has it so bad he's hardly able to do anything anymore and they have no idea where he got it, but he has one of the worse type and hasn't responded well to treatment.

You have to ask yourself what the person was doing to GET hepatitis C.

Yes, it's pretty bad. It will see you off eventually but in my experience the people who have it also lead chaotic lifestyles ( drugs, cigaretts, alcohol, poor diet). And the combination of circumstances makes it all worse.

Yeah, it is as bad as you can get, when I think about it.
