ok thr's lots of bit torrent software bside limewire
such as azureus and morpheus and emule
or u can just go to free music download sites

emule and kazaa are loaded with spy ware/ad ware. Limewire is clean but can be a little finicky. uTorrent is good, but it basically imbeds itself on your computer. uTorrent is used when downloading torrents. It's good for movies/tv shows. You can probably use it for music too.

Try allofmp3.com it's not free but it's really cheap, about a quid an album, although it's in dollars, and you can download whole albums at once and don't have to worry about it being different qualities etc.

What was rubbish about Limewire?
Perhaps you didn't configure it correctly for your setup???
