Depends on what you want. Kits can be 10k to 60k, and going up to a couple of million dollars.

Helicopters are usually more expensive compared to an airplane with similar performance and they are very very expensive to maintain too mostly because of more moving parts. a 4 seater single engine airplane could cost as low as $30,000 and $500 per month for maintenance but a 4 seater light helicopter would cost at least $300,000 and about $3000 per month to maintain.

Really the better question is how expensive are they to operate. Regardless if you can afford the initial investment you have to know helos EAT MONEY.
