Our bodies will die. But if we believe in Jesus Christ our "self" will never taste death. The point of living is to experience the blessings and hardships that come with life. It's exciting to be alive. Peace.

The purpose of life is to prepare ourselves for what comes after we leave this earth. Why would man be so obsessed with living forever, if the human race were not originally built to last forever. If we don't have a purpose there is no right or wrong, and I don't know many people who believe that except for maybe a sociopath. When you realize this earth is just a temporary place to learn the vital things you will need when you pass through this world into the afterlife then you will see.
That is what true Christianity is about, having a purpose, and living to the extent that we are preparing for something much better. My death on earth will be just the beginning of something greater, and I for one hope I am prepared.

Time. It may be infinite, possibly in two or more directions (past, future, alternates), but that doesn't mean it isn't precious. Life is short, for 21st century humans it averages around 72 years, so far. I assume you are referring to the afterlife, or reincarnation not existing when you ask your question "what is the point of living?"
For me, the answer is that if time is precious, and life is short, then The short time we have here is a gift to be treasured, not thrown anyway as meaningless. Embrace the now! Seize the day! It won't all be joyous, but the joy will outweigh the sorrow if you stay positive and continue to always be learning.

that question has created war, within, and in the world. the point is to live, do it well, do it correct, there are signs on the way like driving to work. take everything in, enjoy every good moment, cry when it is time, laugh when it is funny, just live. why does there have to be a point, we all die at the end, if you try your best to do the right thing, how can god, or anything supreme,, hold you at fault. work to be happy, and do what you know is right. thomas

I am not sure if there is a meaning of life. But here we are. People are going to begat other people. You grow develope relationships etc. You could just die if you want to. It would hurt others if you did. Enjoy life while you are alive. Don't really know what else to say.

The answer is that we exist to glorify God (make Him happy).
The reasoning is simple:
1. God existed before any of us.
2. God created everything.
3. When God created Man, he did so in his own image (to replicate himself as best as possible)
4. He created us (the creation) to be as much like himself as possible... specifically beings with Free Will (not robots).
5. So now God sits back looking at his creation (us, the people made in his image [just like him - with free will]).
6. God gains pleasure from those of us that choose His ways... those that obey him, love him, etc. (mostly from those that get to know him, which is another topic)
7. God loves His Son, Jesus, who sacrificed himself for the benefit of the rest of us, in a way that cannot even be described. He (Jesus) loved us so much that he suffered for us in such a way that God (the Father) is reconciled to us, in what we can otherwise consider as "payment of a debt" that we owe that cancels out all of the sins of the world.
Ultimately, the point of our living is not of ourselves, but that of God; that some of us will pleasure Him by fulfilling His will.
It's quite logical.... just think... if you were God, what would you do?
Fortunately, we have a good and loving God, that delights in OUR pleasure as well.... especially in those that willingly choose to love Him... obey Him... follow Him... etc.........

We will not have to suffer death forever.
(Revelation 21:4) And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
(1 Corinthians 15:26) As the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing.

To learn. I believe that there is life beyond this one, and every thing I learn here, every experience, will help in the next one.
We also need a physical body to house our spirits.

Loving our children and our lovers. Expanding our knowledge. Taking care of the earth. Maybe even contributing to mankind. All are great reasons for being here.

the purpose of life is stay alive!
so if you just born and dont want to be alive, its the religious thinker wants you think that way, life is full of sin, life is dirty, human is full of sins!
happyness is not the purpose, enjoying life and ride it is the purpose!
when the times comes we die, we dies in happyness we already knows big part of live, care to others while still live is better than care to other when they already dead :)
balance, is the key to become wisdom people, never ever to become jesus, budha, they saw life is nothing, and they wanted to die!
but never ever become bad and psicopath killer not respect other life and just wants to be serial killer and enjoy killing others (some religious terorist think in this way) because other religion is definetelly goes to hell! they have not worth living!
balance, have them both, respect live but never lose lust/ passion, because its the essence we have fun in live, without it, everything is nothing and just wants to die!
so my friend, keep the games of live spark in your live :)
