im sorry but this saddens to know that those men in black, sat in their cars hoping to catch a speeding car(and thats as good as their day gets) get payed more than those who are putting their life on the line everyday. if there are any serviceman or ex RM,s give me your thoughts and please do the public. its not like the these chaps have 11weeks training and off they go to IRAQ, these people are dedicated and very determined and i can say from my own expierience that i guarantee you require more confidence, responsibility and greater teamwork skills in the marines. let me know your thoughts

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that British police are a lot like U.S. cops (with the exception of no guns for most and a freer hand with the club).

No one who knows a cop very well would EVER say they don't put their lives on the line day in and day out - stopping one of those speeding cars can get you shot. Is it as dangerous as being a Special Forces solider in a time of war? Hell no but it by no means equates to a cake walk. The men and women who go out every day and protect and serve are just as honorable, dedicated, and hard working as our soldiers and deserve the same respect. As for the pay for the Special Forces soldiers of course they're under paid. The government needs to REALLY step up the pay grade for these highly skilled warriors.

What the hell is a Marine Commando? The Police do their job everyday. Marines spend 80% of their time shinning boots and marching around looking pretty. Get a grip and learn the facts. Many police officers are prior-service, in other words, they have done their time in the military too.

The police in my town don't go to Iraq, but they do get called out to break up knife fights between a husband and wife who gleefully turn their knives onto the cops as they arrive, pull abused children out of homes that double as meth labs (ever seen a meth lab explosion?) and be the ones to break the news to the parents that their children were just involved in a drunk driving accident. They also provide all of their own equipment, guns, belts, vests, etc. All that, and for just $7.86 an hour in my town. McDonalds pays more than that.

Do the Marines make less money than that? As far as I'm concerned, neither group is paid NEARLY enough.

so that you're wondering about turning out to be a member of the Royal military Regiment? they could perchance have between the most tense determination & preparation approaches of any protection stress stress interior the international, having by no ability tried it my self I take my hat off to absolutely everyone who even tries it. In my adventure regardless of the reality that, after preparation, there's no longer a lot that separates them from the different Infantry unit (except for his or her disposition for operating in/close to the water). All Regiments somewhat believe they are the perfect at what they do, that is bred into them from the starting up of educating, yet in common words one among them is ideal. What makes the version is the boys you artwork with. you may finally end up with some good lads & have an staggering time. on the different hand you may finally end up with a group on knobbers, & want to signal off on the first chance.

Well, that's capitalism in a nutshell for ya. Your town or your local government pays those cops with high salaries because that's the standard of living waging in your area. However, marines are paid by the federal government, which adjusts the pay on national average, which is not that great by most standards.

As for those so-called fair-market-minders, is it really not fair to have progressive tax rate, in which the rich pays tax in higher percentage of their income? And for those keep asking for tax cuts at all cost, but not even paying nearly enough tax to cover the tax money they spend, cutting taxes for the rich and yourselves would really give you extra money to spend?
