Me and my girlfriend have been going out for 2+ years. We have something special. Sex is great, I'm a great boyfriend, and she's good to me. For christmas, we exchanged a lists of 5 - 8 things each and we were each supposed to buy one or two things for each other. I couldn't help it, I love her and love seeing her smile. I made a couple labor intensive presents, bought everything on the list, plus gave her a promise ring. I know it seems like a lot but her birthday is close to christmas so they both get clumped together. Anyways, christmas came around, she opened all her stuff and then I saw my present. A discount video game ($20) she had bought the day before. When I asked her what the deal was the next day, she said she had been busy with school but she just forgot. After a huge fight, she bought me a discount dvd from some bargain bin and a giftcard. She doesn't act different at all, she acts completely in love, she really liked the ring but she just acts oblivious. What the hell?

she is financially set. It's not about money or how great the presents are. It's about effort. No card, no dinner, no painting, no thought. I don't want her to match me and I'm not being selfish. In a committed relationship you expect some thought. She said she forgot. It's not about the presents, it's about the thought and how she showed none. I think this is why it's hard for guys to commit, if you commit to a girl and treat her good, she treats you like ****. If you are elusive and distant than she can't get enough.

her behaviour sounds confusing. some people can actually behave as if their in love etc, but sometimes they feel differently. the fact she merely left your present(s) to the last minute is questionable! all of us our busy working etc but you DONOT forget the ones you love! i have kids but would still make time to get something special and wanted for my other half.

She didn't win the Christmas Present Contest? Is it about how much is spent? Does she have money to spend? Did you like the game or the movie? Were they on your list? I'm not giving you sympathy here. If your love is about presents, then go for someone rich. That's a lousy relationship, though.

RE: Christmas present day for lady buddy? right here's slightly quandary: often, i'm getting my lady buddy a intense-high quality Christmas present day. final year, I have been given her the Victoria's secret satin bathrobe; yet another year I took her to a mattress & breakfast in Vermont, and so on. The question is, what's something intense-high quality and romantic to try this year? right here's the...

Maybe you should not be so selfish- Is it really about the presents? We only bought 1 present for each other and we decided on a limit for the amount of the gift. We are both happy! Sorry it was SOOOOOOOOOOOO bad for you!

maybe you're so special that she doesn't know what to get you, then thought she'd think of something and didnt, then had to rush out at the last minute, who knows. or maybe its her finanical state?

In my experience, girls like receiving gifts much more than they actually like giving them... it doesn't mean anything! You should just be grateful she remembered to buy you anything at all! =P

"we were each supposed to buy one or two things"

And then you went overboard and expected the same from her?

Shame on you.
