Certainly NO. Apart from the moral issue as a christian, you will put yourself at risk in the future. This once only bribe could be used against you and at some time in the future you could be asked again but this time there would be no reward apart from not telling about the first time. Report the offer to a superior and you will be rewarded in that way and with luck a trap could be set to expose the person making that offer.
I was offered a considerable amount of money some years ago to ensure that a particular supplier received our orders. I reported it and this supplier was struck off our list and I was given a reward for my actions. I was also promoted a few months later as my manager had been taking money from yet another supplier.

No. And I speak from experience.

As a Christian, I am a follower of Christ Jesus. I believe that the bible is the word of God as spoken by the prophets. I also believe that the bible interprets itself.

In the pages of the bible, you will find the Christian message which tells us about hope for eternal life. For me personally, it is this hope that tell me that there is more to life than this world; there is a next. "Take and receive bribe in the office" does not help for the next (after) life, and it is this next life that is important.

I know what it is to die (near death experience with its four stages); it changes the way you live. I don't think there is a more "in terrible need" than death. If our final destination is death and our hope is for something after death, our present situation (whatever that may be) is temporary in comparison.

Again, my answer to your question: No.

Footnote: The hope for eternal life is only one part of the Christian message. I only presented a small part of that message as an ethical background.

I think the bible would say no - that you should put your trust in jesus and follow how he lived and he will look after you. The bible says that he is with you always and always watching out for you and that you may have to accept suffering.

I should add that I am not a christian but have read a lot of the bible when i was younger as my parents were religious. A new trend for christians seems to be to ask themselves "Would Jesus take a bribe", i think he would not and you shouldn't do something that jesus would not do. Apart from christianity bribery is wrong and should be reported to superiors and hopefully the briber will have to suffer

No, I do not know what your terrible need is, but as a Christian you need to do what is right!! . Remember God will not only provide a way out when tempted, but provide for your needs as well.
(New International Version)
1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

James 1:12
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

Matthew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

I hope this helps. Hang in there, I'll pray for you

What has taking Bribe to do with religion ?
If I am in dire need of Money then the best policy is beg, borrow or steal.
Which is more important saving the life of my child or allowing the child to die because taking bribe is a sin ?
Is it not a bigger sin to sacrifice the life of another because of my upholding my principles ?

Need is Greater than empty Morality !!

If it means avoiding starvation, helping a sick child, ensuring you and your family don't get evicted from your house etc then I am sure God will turn a blind eye. I suppose the dilemma is if you are bribed to do something dodgy, unlawful, distasteful etc. Weigh up the Pros and the Cons and come to an intelligent and reasoned answer.

This isn't a question of Christianity. It's one of morality. Bribes are wrong in any faith. If you're in terrible need, try moonlighting.

Whether you are a Christian or not has little to do with your question. Taking bribes is wrong whatever your belief system or whatever your needs.

No, because you should rely on God to meet your needs. If they are not met, then God is trying to tell you something...take you in a different direction. Either way, we are to place out trust in Him, no matter the outcome, not take matters into our own hand. Especially if it means doing something immoral...God doesn't want us to sin, as it only takes us farther away from Him. Remember, you will have to stand before Him someday and account for all your actions
