i basically feel the same.. gay people have feelings just like straight people.. and i do NOT go to church because i do not need someone telling me how to believe in my god.. if i need him i ask for him.. it never says we have to go to church as long as you and god have an understanding then who the hell else matters??.. i hate when someone says you cant be a christian just because you dont go to church... well no thanks i dont need someone to brainwash me.. thats an area where i can agree with some of the atheist or anyone who says it... i feel churchs brainwash you into what they want you to believe... i read the bible and i have accepted jesus thats wht matters... all you bible thumpers can have your way well have ours.. and i give you props for being able to say it with no regret... as for the other christians judging you about it, they should know they arent supposed to judge people, guess their church isnt teaching that part is it.... keep going about your way, their day will come to be judged..

Christianity and many religions, especially fundamentalism, teaches that tolerance is wrong. Subjective thinking breeds feeblemindedness and a viciousness toward any belief outside a narrow corridor of thought. Decent people, though, know that although we may not approve of what others believe, it is healthy and for the good of all to accept the right of others to believe as they chose. Avoid those people who are intolerant and vicious.

Some people just really can't accept and respect other beliefs than their own. Those people are narrow-minded and judgmental. Just try to ignore them and not let them get to you. Be true to yourself and believe what feels right to YOU. If they can't be respectful they are the ones with the problem. Maybe it can help just telling them to their face that you are as free to believe what feels right to you as they are to believe what they do and that there is no reason to be judgmental and disrespectful to you for exercising that freedom.

Listen to the talking horse, honey! "You have a right to do as you like, and I agree...But by the way, what you're doing is wrong.. blah blah..."
I know what you're feeling there. They can't bring themselves to say something nice and agreeable without also condemning you in the next breath. Pretty soon they'll have you completely driven from Christianity, and they'll be scratching their heads and wondering why. But if you hang around the Religion category, they'll hang around you like vultures.

Ugh, this one's going to be a doozy.
First off, just because you have problems with certain people in your particular church doesn't mean the concept of church itself is wrong. Second, just because you feel something is right doesn't make it right, and if you ever want to convince people that what you believe is right you must use universal logic rather than personal feelings. Third, it doesn't sound like you respect what they believe in at all. You should examine yourself before you accuse others of hypocrisy.
Finally, who uses the word "crock?" -_-

I feel the exact same way!!! I don't think anyone is entitled to dictate to other people about how they should live. If you think it's right, hey, go for it. Just don't physically harm another human being while you're at it. That's all that anyone should expect. If it's not their life and they don't have to live with it, they should keep their big mouths shut.

You mean like... people asking why you can't accept that you must either accept Jesus or burn in Hell? (Which I suppose is especially annoying if you've already accepted Jesus ).
I agree. It would be nice if people would respect us as well-educated adults who have our own reasons for our beliefs, and not try to convince us otherwise from a position of supposed superiority.
More power to you.

I believe all that too, I am Christian....but gay acts are sins... yes they have rights though like everyone. But denying it is a sin doesnt make it ok.
Otherwise, we are on the same page. Thats why if I do go to church now and then I go to a huge one where nobody knows me... Its just me and G-d.
And if you really want to be left alone about your faith, try the politics Q&A, or polls and Surveys.
