Hi there...since you are heading to the veterinary hospital tomorrow it's best to be certain your cat is safely secured indoors so she doesn't become pregnant. There isn't much one can do until she has the spay procedure tomorrow.

Keep it in a bathroom or a room that is easy to clean. I don't know what meds they can give her but they do sell these little diaper type things at the pet store. The best solution, as always, is to have her spayed as soon as your vet gives the ok. Whatever you do, don't let her outdoors while in heat or around that time. Not only will you end up with a bunch of kittens, but you'll have male cats spraying all around where she's been outside.

Cats in heat can be annoying, but can be calmed down. I have a cat in heat right now, don't have the money to get her fixed. What you can do and I recommend is putting her in the bathroom, for 2 reasons. #1 being she will be confined, some cats will bolt out of an open door #2 some cats and this does happen-will spray. They will pee on tables, clothes practically anything. This is to let the "males" know she is in heat and ready to go!
Confining them will lessen the howling they do. If they walk around the home it will get louder and louder. Obviously petting them quiets them for time you are petting them. A cat will come into heat about every 2-3 weeks and it will last around a week. I put my cat in the bathroom with food, water and litter box. Give her some towels to sleep on and leave the light on. she is very happy in there. It is not mean to do this,I pay attention to her everyday.

There are no "meds" for a cat in heat.

Well, if she is anything like my kitty was when she came in heat, plan to stay up all night with her screaming and tearing up the place and take her in the next day to be spayed. Withhold food and water after 10-12 pm. It will probably cost a bit more to have her spayed because she is in heat, but it needs to be done. [I had a classmate who bred Abyssinian cats and he used to use a moist Q-tip placed in the vagina for the cats that he did not want to breed during that season. Because cats are what we call "induced ovulators", it would fool them into thinking they had been bred and they would ovulate and go out of heat...but only for a short period of time...Not your best choice, and it didn't work for my kitty]. She was a Valentine's Day spay, and I was a very exhausted "Mommy". By the time you get all these answers, you will have taken care of the problem or be so heavily sedated yourself, that you don't care...just kidding..[SMILE]

Cats do not drip blood like dogs to so there is no need for her to be confined a clean area. Unless you want your cat pregnant you will to keep her inside until she stops carrying on like a crazy thing. She will come into heat every 21 days or so if she is not mated. Cats are what they call spontaneous ovulators so if they happen to get out and they are mated you bet your bottom dollar she will be pregnant. Keep her inside and get de-sexed asap. Or she will drive you nutso

Got bad news for you dude... I had exactly the same problem with one of mine - she was due to go in for her op on the Friday, and on the Tuesday she came into heat. It's the most frustrating thing. So I phoned a Vet friend of mine. She said the only way to "stop" the heat is to ... uhm... stimulate her. With a Qtip.

Yeah... I know...

Good luck with that...

put her in a bathroom with a towel you don't like. or something for bed. i don't think you can get meds for being in heat? you can get diapers but that is a pain. good luck. its awful. after this you will want to get her fixed just so you don't have to go through it again.
