Hey, the microwave i have is almost 12 years old, it has a bit of rust in it so i was thinking about giving it a paint inside, what type of paint should i use (is it safe to use paint in the first place?) and would it be 'food-friendly'? Thanks in advance!

Painting the inside of your microwave is a very bad idea. Many common paints include metallic components, and the heating caused by microwave bombardment may release toxic gasses.

Get a new microwave, they're rather cheap nowadays.

Once you use that microwave after painting it could be your last time. Purchase a new one - Walmart has nice inexpensive ones that will remedy your rust and perhaps getting a smaller one will create more space.

no paint is food friendly, you can get a new microwave for about 100 bucks and it will be safer and cleaner.
