If it comes out positive, yes it is fairly accurate. A negative result isn't as accurate because you may be too early in the pregnancy for the test to pick up on the hormone levels. A blood test should give you a more reliable result if you just don't trust the home test though.

A positive result is pretty accurate. False positives do not happen very often.
A negative can be inaccurate though. You could have taken it too soon, or you could not have enough HCG in your system yet to register on the test.
I never had good luck with tests. The first few ones were always - when I was late for my period and indeed pregnant. I tested a week late when I was pregnant with twins and you could barely see a line. My husband was convinced I was seeing things. I wasn't. I was indeed pregnant :)

I believe they are accurate. I took the digital test 1 day after I missed my period and it said pregnant. My doctor confirmed it a few days later at my appointment. I've took the lines test also and they are also true. If you think your pregnant and it reads negative just wait a few days because you may not have enough detectable hormone yet.

They are extremely accurate. It is impossible to get a false positive as they can't detect the pregnancy hormone if it's not there and as they detect it in such small amounts a false negative is very rare.
