From what I learned that all viruses are different so wouldn't you catch another person's cold even you're still sick?

I believe Blanketyblank is right! our body fights whatever strain you have and establishes immunity to it. If you come in contact with another strain, you may catch it too, but since your body has built (or is building) immunity to the first strain, I believe the related second strain may not be as severe as it would otherwise have been. (I believe a few times this has happened to me. I teach and am constantly exposed to germs of cold and flu. Recommended: wash your hands a lot and do not touch your eyes, nasal, and mouth areas where the germs can infect you.)

in fact, when you are suffering from a cold or flu, you are more likely to catch another one, because your body is weakened and not able to fight infections. You may also catch a bacterial infection at this time.

This is why when people have a bad cold, the doctor often prescribes antibiotics even though they do nothing to fight colds (which are a virus). It is to prevent the person from catching a bacterial infection.

It's not quite true to say that "the viruses are all different", though. At any one time there might be about 100 different colds going around, but when everybody you know comes down with a cold, it is the same virus in everyone. A few weeks later everyone will be immune to that particular strain.
