Hi Andrea,

The book of Revelations was for the people of the time, and was about the people of the time. In the early Christian churches it was widely believed that the end of the world was coming soon. Jesus said in the "Olivette Discourse" that "This generation shall not pass away..." for his predictions to come true. And people took him at his word.

The book obviously refers to Rome (city with seven hills) as home of the Anti-Christ. And the 666 refers to Nero. At this time, the Hebrew language did not have written vowels (Hebrew vowels were added in the Middle Ages). As a result, words were written out in consonants. The title "Ceasar Nero" written out in unvoweled Hebrew is "NRWN KSR," which, written out numerologically is 666.

If you read Revelations, the author is plainly speaking about people whom he expects his readers to know ("let those with understanding discern," he says frequently).

As I said, the early churches were absolutely confident that the end was fast approaching; and when it didn't come, every successive generation believed that THEY must be the last generation, and the one for whom the book was written. We still have these people today who are convinced it applies to us. But please understand, this has been going on generation after generation for the past 2000 years.

Because of its atrociously bad writing and its many and obvious flaws, Martin Luther challenged its inspired authenticity and believed the book had no place in scripture.

It's not hype, because it was written about a real person (Nero); but it's not reality either. It is a very poorly written dream sequence of a man who believed the end was just around the corner, and wanted to share his thoughts with the rest of the community. And that's all it is.

Cheers. Hope this answer helps.

It's found in the book of Revelation 13:18. After describing the beast (which many interpret as being the antichrist) it says: " Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six,"

One of the best theories I've heard about it is this. In that chapter, 3 beasts are described. One is Satan the dragon, another is called the false prophet, and the beast. The three sixes represent the unholy trinity.(One six for each member) The 3 of them are an evil trinity and 6 falls one short of 7, which is a number associated with God throughout the book of revelation. Many have tried to link this number to one person or another trying to prove that the person is the Antichrist. I don't think that has anything to do with it. The anti christ won't be found out through playing numbers games.

The important thing to remember is it's just a number. God doesn't want us to be superstitious so don't be concerned if it's on someones license plate or if it turns up any place like that. It's harmless. It's just a number.

Revelations mentions 666 which is the number of a man which is the Anti-Christ who will rise to power during the tribulation. It is thought that he will be of Jewish extraction and will arise as a peace maker however he will bring swift destruction. I believe he is in the world today as the stage seems set given the times which Jesus described in Matthew Ch.24 which deals with the last days. He will not however come to prominence until after the rapture which signals the beginning of the great tribulation.

Im not sure if i can find the sources right now, bt if you look it up, you will find this to be true.

The part in the bible that says that was really tattered on the dead see scrolls. With latest advancements in tech we have been able to fix the damaged and it apeared that the 666 was missinterpreted and it was something else.

well its definately not Nero...there are at least 35 different names that you can come up with the numberes 666...Nero is already dead...the one person is correct about it not happening until after the rapture and the 10 kindoms are formed inside the the old Roman Empire...theres more on this...but if you get a study Bible...things will seem more easy for you to understand for yourself....this you must do....for yourself...always use your own judgement when it comes to religion...but you must study...and read to find the truth...IT IS THERE!!!

In my opinion the seal of God is the Holy Spirit which lives inside Christians who except Christ. This is called baptism. When a person receives the mark of the Beast it consists of., that person receiving the spirit of Satan, then threw a transcendental meditation ceremony done by witch craft / demonic powers receive the mark threw acceptance.

18.This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.

Revelation 13:18

But again, even if it is in the Bible it doesn't mean that it's actually about a number

Strictly literal.

Lucifer's name in Hebrew is Heylel (refer to Isaiah 14).

Heylel is another word for Halal.

NOW. think, who has Halal??? This name will soon be found on the foreheads and arms of all the followers of the beast.
