not at all. if the kidneys are healthy a high protein diet will not have any effect on them.
the human body can not differeniate between protein sources. the body treats proteins derived from supplements the same as from natural sources.
the term "high protein" is subjective. what is high to one person is not to another, especially if they have substantial amounts of lean body mass that requires it.
for all those that say otherwise please post a medical stating that a high protein diet causes kidney failure.
where are the millions of athletes all over the world from the past 60 years with kidney failure?

Whey protein is much better than animal protein in its effect on kidneys.
Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span. No food or drink in between the food and not more than three meals a day, unless u r diabetic.

No but kidney failure is no where near as bad as heart attacks and strokes which kills more people than all other causes combine. Site below tells how excess protein is causing this among Americans. High protein causes high blood pressure which does cause kidney failure.

Yes. Thats true. When you take more protein than required for your muscle build and other purposes, it is broken down into carbos and fats. More importantly, calcium is the by-product. And when this calcium dissolved in the liquids, goes to the kidney, there are chances of they getting deposited and over the time it causes its failure of kidney
